Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTUS renewables developer Participant Energy has initiated construction work on a 14.7-MW solar power plant in Honduras, which, it says, is the largest privately-owned commercial solar project in the country.
The company is building the plant for the Green Valley Industrial Park, located near San Pedro Sula. Under a power purchase agreement (PPA), the industrial facility will save about 20% on its energy costs from day one, Participant Energy estimates.
The Northern California-based developer said that it has been doing business in Honduras since 2018. Prior to that, it has developed solar in Costa Rica as part of that government's official solar initiative, Plan Piloto.
In addition to solar, Participant Energy is also involved in the production of clean synthetic fuels through the use of agricultural waste-to-energy gasification technology.
