Together with French, Spanish and Greek partners, the project will seek to create a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem in a bid to lay the foundation for hydrogen use in airports. While its focus will be mainly on road transport, it is seen as a key step in gaining knowledge for hydrogen use in aviation.

The project should be completed by September 2027.

Hydrogen Valley Malpensa has been awarded around EUR 7.4 million (USD 7.9m) in funding from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership under the EU’s Horizon Europe programme.
