UK-based developer PASH Global said Tuesday that it has secured a contract to build a 1-MW ground-mounted solar farm for German pharmaceutical company Fresenius Kabi at its manufacturing site in San German, Puerto Rico.

The scope of the contract, which PASH Global said it won in a competitive tender process, includes the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the project.

PASH’s in-house technical and engineering team will handle the design and construction of the plant, which has to be able to withstand hurricanes and wind storms hitting the Caribbean island.

The solar farm will generate about 1,504 MWh per year, and power the operations of the San German facility, where Fresenius Kabi produces transfusion medicine and cell therapies.

The project is expected to reach commercial operation by the third quarter of 2022. Afterwards, PASH Global will operate and maintain the plant, the London-based firm said.
