US power sector-focused private equity firm Hull Street Energy (HSE) announced on Thursday the launch of TruGrid, a Houston, Texas-based company offering utility-scale engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to the battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar markets.

Headed by CEO Jody Snodgrass, TruGrid will deliver turnkey projects as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) services. The company is led by a team that has executed more than 10 GWh of energy storage and 10 GW of solar projects to date, according to its website.

The new HSE-owned entity will have its formal market debut at an upcoming renewables conference in California later this month.

Bethesda, Maryland-based HSE invests in the power sector as it decarbonises, with a focus on renewable and fossil power generation businesses, energy storage resources, transmission and distribution systems and fuels, among others.

HSE’s portfolio includes companies, such as distributed solar and energy storage project developer Greenskies Clean Focus, hydroelectric power plants owner and operator Central Rivers Power and underground, closed-loop, pumped storage firm Serium Energy Storage.
