Peru's renewables share falls to 4.1% in March

Power production from Peru’s non-conventional renewables fell by 6% year-on-year to 226 GWh in March, the Peruvian ministry of energy and mining said in its monthly preliminary report on the electricity sector.

The share on non-conventional renewables -- solar, wind and bioenergy sources -- in the nation’s total power production was 4.1% in March, down from 4.2% in February. In March last year, renewables achieved a share of 4.7%.

Total gross power production rose by 8.0% year-on-year to 5,458 GWh in March. Between January and March, gross power production reached 15,502 GWh, up by 5.5% on the year.
