Infener to set up 20-MW green hydrogen hub in Germany
Sep 17, 2024 14:59 CESTMalaysian electric power technology group Pestech International Bhd (KLSE:PESTECH) and French hydrogen specialist Hydrogene de France SA (EPA:HDF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore mutual involvement in green hydrogen projects in South East Asia.
Their focus will be on the green hydrogen production from hydroelectric plants in Cambodia and Malaysia, Pestech said.
In an initial phase, the companies will jointly cooperate on project development in the two countries. HDF Energy, being a developer of proprietary hydrogen power plants, will take the lead on the project development scopes and sizing. Pestech will act as local market liaison and coordinator in synergies with the French partner, the Malaysian group said.
Pestech will also be given the first right of refusal when it comes to the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning works of each project. This right will depend on bankability criteria set to be confirmed by international and local lenders at later stage, Pestech explained.
The MoU will be in effect for three years, and the partners may agree to extend it.
