Brazil's Piaui govt clears operations for 300-MW wind park
Sep 12, 2024 9:29 CESTBrazilian state-run oil and gas company Petrobras (BVMF:PETR4) announced on Monday that it entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Rio Grande do Norte state for offshore wind feasibility studies.
Specifically, Petrobras will look into the feasibility of developing an offshore wind pilot project in the state. The size of the future investment and the potential offshore wind power development capacity will be assessed as the project develops, it says in a statement.
Under the MoU, Petrobras will conduct studies on the pilot project's possible environmental and social impacts. The government, in turn, will promote the alignment of the project with state programmes and policies, as well as initiatives to improve the region where the project will take place.
