PGE Energia Odnawialna, part of Polish utility PGE(WSE:PGE), has called a tender to select construction contractor for a 5-MW photovoltaic (PV) project in Jedlanka Stara in the central Mazovia province, the company said on Wednesday.

The planned facility, which will consist of some 10,000 sq m monocrystalline bifacial panels, will be built in the second half of 2024.

The construction of the Jedlanka Stara PV farm is part of the PGE Group's investment programme for solar energy. This year alone, the group will commission another 24 solar PV installations throughout Poland.

In 2023, the PGE Group will have some 500 MW of solar farms in operation or under construction, the company added. Some of the biggest facilities it is currently developing include the 100-MW Jeziorko, the 25-MW Augustynka and the 15-MW Zoltance.

PGE Energia Odnawialna is the largest producer of green energy in Poland with a total installed capacity of 2,428 MW, the company pointed out. It has 20 wind farms, 29 hydropower plants, four pumped-storage facilities and 24 PV arrays.
