Saint-Gobain to offtake solar, wind power from Boralex in France
Nov 11, 2024 11:05 CESTItalian renewable power producer and retailer Eni Plenitude SpA has started operations of a 5-MW solar farm in France, adding a new plant to its growing portfolio in the country.
As Plenitude said on Wednesday, the Bouillac solar farm, located in the namesake municipality, will generate around 6,700 MWh of electricity per year, which the company will market in line with its integrated business model.
The new plant sits on a disused clay extraction quarry that was rehabilitated for this project and is hidden from view by trees, Plenitude said.
"The start up of the Bouillac solar plant represents a further important milestone for Plenitude, which confirms our commitment to seizing those opportunities that a country like France offers in the renewables sector,” stated Mariangiola Mollicone, Head of Western Europe Renewables and Managing Director of Plenitude Renewables in France and Spain.
“This project, in addition to being a virtuous examples of integration with the territory, testifies our growth objectives in the French market”, Mollicone added.
Plenitude has a portfolio of projects totalling over 700 MW in development in France, in addition to 120 MW already in operation. Its global objective is to have 8 GW of installed capacity by 2027.
