Sep 13, 2024 17:19 CESTAug 30, 2013 - The Netherlands' Port of Rotterdam Authority has signed a cooperation agreement with four companies to offer an area for development of bio-based operations at the port's Maasvlakte 2 port project.
The deal was signed with German utility E.on AG (ETR:EOAN), as well as Duch company Evides Industriewater, grid operator Stedin and oil storage firm Royal Vopak (AMS:VPK), the port said yesterday.
The 80-ha (198 acres) area, dubbed Plug & Play, will serve customers who want to establish activities dedicated to bio-fuels, bio-energy and the bio-chemical sectors. There is a possibility for integration of the area with the Maasvlakte 1 harbour.
Port of Rotterdam sees growth in traffic of bio-fuels.
