The Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) last week announced that it has been notified of Tokyo Gas Co Ltd's (TYO:9531) deal to buy a minority stake in the 25-MW WindFloat Atlantic floating wind farm operating off the coast of Viana do Castelo municipality.

The regulator invited interested parties to submit comments regarding the concentration within 10 business days. The process is currently still open.

WindFloat Atlantic is made up of three 8.4-MW wind turbines mounted on floating platforms. The system achieved commercial operation in 2020.

Tokyo Gas announced its investment in Windplus SA, which is the operator of the wind park, in early August, saying that post-completion of the transaction it will hold a stake of 21.2%, leaving Ocean Winds with a 65.17% interest and Spanish oil company Repsol with the remaining 13.63%.

Ocean Winds is a joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie SA.
