US renewable energy performance management software developer Power Factors LLC said on Monday it has acquired Canadian sector consultancy Arista Renewable Energies for an undisclosed sum.

The acquired business is engaged in the provision of advanced analytics services. Its area of expertise falls in the performance optimisation and monitoring of utility-scale wind farms. Arista’s customers are located across Canada, the US, Latin America, Europe and Africa.

At present, Power Factors supports and monitors more than 23 GW of solar and wind projects, and believes that Arista’s industry knowledge and performance insights will complement its own offerings.

“Our combination gives owners and operators a set of tools to improve plant performance and maintain visibility over workflow and actions taken by their field operations teams,” explained Francis Pelletier, president and co-founder of Arista.

The buyer noted that this transaction will lead to a significant expansion and hiring in Canada.
