Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CEST(ADPnews) - Apr 29, 2011 - Power-One (NASDAQ:PWER) was the biggest gainer of market share in the PV inverter market last year, according to a recent report by IMS Research.
Next in the list came Siemens (ETR:SIE) and Advanced Energy (NASDAQ:AEIS), which was helped by its purchase of PV Powered, while the top five of share winners was completed by Sungrow and Danfoss.
The report also shows that in 2010 the 10 leading PV inverter suppliers were for the first time all European companies. That was largely owing to the bumper growth in key markets in the region.
The PV inverter market as a whole enjoyed growth of 140% last year.
Tom Haddon, an IMS Research analyst, noted that Europe received more than 80% of shipments in 2010, but cautioned that as other markets, such as the US, China and India, were now expected to see more rapid growth, companies focused on Europe could face limited share-gaining opportunities.
