IEA urges proactive measures to integrate renewables
Sep 18, 2024 11:17 CEST(ADPnews) - May 20, 2011 - German wind turbine manufacturer PowerWind GmbH said on Wednesday that it had signed a wind turbine supply deal with US engineering and construction firm Performance Services Inc.
Under the deal, the German company will ship two units of its PowerWind 56 turbines of 900 kW each. The generators will be installed on the campus of Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation in Akron, Indiana.
The Performance Services' order was placed just six months after the first PowerWind's turbine was installed in the Berkshire East ski resort in Massachusetts. The company pointed out that in the next twelve months it will deliver more than ten wind turbines to US-based wind power developers and the Midwest.
Set up in 2007, PowerWind has so far sold over 120 units of its wind power turbines worldwide. The company's converters have generated high energy yields in Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Poland.
