Finnish consulting and engineering firm Poyry Plc (HEL:POY1V) has won the engineering services and consultancy services assignment for the feasibility study for a run-of-river hydropower plant in Armenia.

The contract has been awarded by Debed Hydro LLC, a subsidiary of the Energy Invest Holding CJSC that will build and operate the plant.

The Shnogh Hydroelectric Project is located in northern Armenia. It will see water from the Debed and Martsiget rivers dammed and conveyed to a powerhouse with two turbines totalling 70 MW.

Poyry said on Friday its responsibilities include the review of existing documents and the basic studies, feasibility design of the selected alternatives, construction schedule, bill of quantities, cost estimate, economic evaluation and executive summary.

The Investors Club of Armenia investment fund will provide 15% of the investment for the project.
