AGP-Europe signs VPPA with Rezolv for 229-MW solar project in Bulgaria
Sep 05, 2024 12:07 CESTSOFIA (Bulgaria), September 29 (SeeNews) – Global solar power systems developer Premier Power said it will build a 16.2 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic park in Dimitrovgrad, southern Bulgaria.
“Ranging in size from 3.0 MW to 5.0 MW, the installations are funded through a private investment company based in the Czech Republic,” Premier Power said in a statement released on Wednesday.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
The company will build four photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Dimitrovgrad. Construction works will begin this month and all four systems are scheduled for completion by the end of 2011, the statement added.
The project will increase by more than 75% Bulgaria's installed solar capacity, which was reported at approximately 21 MW in the beginning of 2011, Premier Power said.
"We look forward to building our presence in Bulgaria as the country aggressively targets its goal of reaching 16 percent renewable power by the year 2020," Bjorn Persson, executive vice president of European operations at Premier Power, said in the statement.
Premier Power runs project across Europe and North America, with more than 1,000 systems in operation to date.
