Qair, EPCG to explore opportunities for renewables in Montenegro
Sep 12, 2024 15:32 CESTPODGORICA (Montenegro), October 27 (SeeNews) – The consortium of France's Akuo and Austria's Ivicom, which has been awarded a permit to build the Krnovo wind power plant (WPP) in Montenegro, should complete the preparatory works by May next year, the economy ministry in Podgorica said on Monday.
Akuo-Ivicom was awarded a construction permit for the Krnovo WPP project in June, the press office of the economy ministry said in a statement e-mailed to SeeNews.
Krnovo WPP will consist of 27 wind turbines with unit power of 2.5 megawatts (MW) and 2.75 MW, depending on location. The total rated power output of WPP Krnovo will be 72 MW, according to project details released earlier by Krnovo Green Energy, a Podgorica-based unit of Ivicom Holding.
The Krnovo site is located between the Montenegrin cities of Niksic and Savnik.
Daily Pobjeda said last week that the consortium has launched talks with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Germany’s KfW Bank to finance the project, estimated at 100-120 million euro ($126-$153 million).
