Prime Energy to supply solar power to Brazilian sanitation firm Solar PV plant in Brazil

Brazilian energy firm Prime Energy will deliver 639 MWh of solar power per year to Ambiental Parana, a concessionaire of the Aegea sanitation group, located in Parana state.

Under the contract terms, Prime Energy, a supplier of Shell plc (LON:SHELL) Group services, has been delivering solar power since June from two photovoltaic (PV) parks in the municipality of Nova Esperanca.

Prime Energy said that the renewable energy is being used to meet 13% of the energy consumption of Ambiental Parana's operational units. This will offset 276 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Emerson Rocha, manager of Energy Management and Energy Efficiency at Aegea, noted that 98% of the energy consumed in the group's units comes from renewable sources.
