Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe 100-MW Quaid-e-Azam solar park in Pakistan’s Punjab province is likely to be sold by the local government in the next few days, The News International said today, citing unnamed sources.
The plant is likely to be privatised through an initial public offering (IPO). The transaction is subject to approval by the provincial cabinet, which is expected to be given soon, according to the sources.
The facility in Bhawalpur district was built with an investment of PKR 3.8 billion (USD 36m/EUR 32m) by the Punjab government. It has been operational since 2015.
There is a plan to expand the Quaid-e-Azam plant’s capacity to 1,000 MW.
Pakistan launched its first on-grid solar park in 2012. At present, the country has 10 GW of installed solar power capacity.
