Croatian renewable energy company Professio Energia is seeking approval for the construction of an up to 130-MW wind farm in the southern part of its home country.

According to an official filing with the Economy Ministry, the company is requesting an assessment related to the project’s potential impacts on the environment.

Professio Energia’s plan is to install 19 turbines of around 6 MW each at a site in Zadar county. The turbine generators will form a complex named Otric that will be feeding electricity into the national power grid. Details about the proposed investment and construction schedule were not available.

The new wind farm will expand Professio Energia’s portfolio of wind farms in Croatia, where it already owns five plants.

Last year, the Croatian company sealed a deal with European renewables developer RP Global to co-develop eight solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across Croatia totalling 266 MWp. The project will be coupled with battery storage, with the first ones expected to reach the shovel-ready stage in 2024.
