May 3, 2012 - German solar company Q-Cells (ETR:QCE) said today it had secured an order to supply 7 MWp of solar modules in Italy to Swedish furniture retailer Ikea.

The order is for the copper indium gallium (di)selenide (CIGS) thin-film modules Q.SMART, whose aperture area efficiency reaches 14.7%, Q-Cells said. The modules will be installed on the roof of Ikea's main warehouse in Italy in the northern town of Piacenza. Installation is to take place in the coming months.

The project is being developed in partnership with Italian firms GreenPowerTech and F.lli Zaffaroni.
