Infener to set up 20-MW green hydrogen hub in Germany
Sep 17, 2024 14:59 CESTFrench renewable power producer Qair has received ISK 2.5 million (USD 19,400/EUR 17,100) in grant financing for research related to the production of green hydrogen in Iceland.
The grant was awarded by the Federation of Icelandic Industries’ Progress Fund as part of a wider initiative aimed at supporting studies that enhance the country’s industrial development, Qair said last week.
The French independent power producer’s (IPP) task will be to conduct a study dedicated to the legal and regulatory environment for producing green hydrogen in Iceland.
At present, Qair operates 500 MW of renewable power generation capacity and has 700 MW of additional projects in the construction and financing phases, while 3 GW of schemes are under development for future deployment, according to its website. The company is involved in the production, storage and distribution of green hydrogen through its subsidiary Qair Premier Element.
