Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTQair, former Quadran International, has sealed a deal with the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) to jointly install a 200-kW floating solar array in Tunisia.
The cooperation agreement was signed last week, STEG said in a press release. The project will receive financing of an unspecified amount from the Private Sector Study and Aid Fund (FASEP) of the Directorate General of the French Ministry of Economy.
The photovoltaic (PV) facility will be installed in the Berges du Lac district of the capital Tunis and is planned to be put on stream by the end of next year. The implementation of the project will be initiated “shortly,” under the supervision of the Tunisian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Energy Transition.
This will be a pilot scheme that will serve to study Tunisia’s ability to accommodate floating solar arrays, STEG said.
Qair won a 10-MW solar project in Tunisia’s Kasserine governorate in a tender finalised by the nation’s government in June. Th ground-mounted power plant, according to the developer’s website, is slated for commissioning in 2021.
