Infener to set up 20-MW green hydrogen hub in Germany
Sep 17, 2024 14:59 CESTWyoming-based Raven SR Inc on Wednesday said it has selected two engineering companies to finalise the design and build its first commercial facilities producing green hydrogen from a blend of green waste and food waste.
The first two facilities will be installed at two waste and material processing sites in the San Francisco Bay area and are expected to be in operation by the summer of 2022, delivering green hydrogen for the commercial transportation market.
POWER Engineers Inc has been chosen to complete the final engineering and design of the units, while Stellar J Corp has been tasked with their fabrication.
Using Raven SR's patented Steam/CO2 Reformation waste-to-hydrogen process, the company's inaugural facilities will produce up to 10,000 kg of renewable hydrogen per day, enough to power around 200 heavy-duty trucks or 1,250 passenger vehicles, according to the announcement. The process involves no combustion and can generate California low carbon fuel credit (LCFS) for fueling stations.
The Bay Area systems will supply hydrogen for commercial fuel stations in the region. They will serve as the first two hydrogen hubs as part of a partnership between Raven SR and hydrogen fuel cell-powered commercial vehicles supplier Hyzon Motors Inc to fuel local Hyzon fleets. Hyzon and Raven SR earlier this year announced a partnership to co-develop 100 hydrogen hubs in the US and globally.
