World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTAug 1, 2013 - Norway’s solar panel maker Renewable Energy Corp ASA (OSL:REC) said today it will supply 25,720 solar panels aggregating to 6.5 MWp to a ground-mounted tracker system in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The solar panels will produce a total of 12,289,500 kWh of clean electricity, which will flow into the printing of the Eenadu, a daily newspaper in Andhra Pradesh, owned by Ramoji Group, REC said.
The solar plant, which will be constructed by Indian Photon Energy Systems, is expected to be completed by the end of September 2013.
India’s power deficit is highest in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and increased to 16% in January 2013 from 3% in 2011, which caused thousands of small and medium enterprises to close due to the power shortage.
