Recurrent Energy, a wholly-owned unit of Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ), has been successful with three projects in England with a combined capacity of 120 MWp in the UK’s latest Contracts for Difference (CfD) tender.

The CfD contracts will enable Recurrent Energy to secure revenues for 15 years, indexed to inflation, the company said on Thursday. Its winners in the competitive round are the 49.9-MWp Gateley Moor project in Durham, the 49.9-MWp Hessay scheme in York and the 20-MW Court Barton project in Devon.

The three photovoltaic (PV) farms, once installed, will be capable of generating electricity for more than 34,000 homes annually while offsetting roughly 31,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The capacity will be put into operation gradually, with the first one to be commissioned being Court Barton, which will start producing power by the middle of 2025. The Hessay and Gateley Moor plants will go online by mid-2026 and mid-2027, respectively.

As announced in September, the UK government’s sixth renewables auction awarded CfD to 9,648.26 MW of capacity.
