World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTFeb 26, 2013 - Chinese solar module maker ReneSola Ltd (NYSE:SOL) today said the amount of solar products it shipped to Australia last year more than doubled to 100 MW.
ReneSola's chief executive Xianshou Li said that the growth of wafers and modules shipments to Australia was due largely to the expansion of the local market for solar power. The company’s products have been used by Australian solar developers for various types of solar installations from residential rooftop systems to utility-scale solar farms.
The expansion in Australia is yet another proof of the greater attention ReneSola is paying to the Asia-Pacific region after the announcement earlier today that it had applied for its products to be included in the Japan Photovoltaic Expansion Centre (JPEC) list of products eligibility to receive government subsidies.
ReneSola's move into the Asia-Pacific market comes at a time when Chinese solar products are subject to import anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties in the US of up to 250%. Moreover, the company and its domestic peers are awaiting the results of anti-dumping probes from the European Union and India.
