Renewables share in Guatemala’s power mix in January rose to 77.38% from 73.34% registered a month earlier, according to the latest figures presented by the National Electric Energy Commission (CNEE).

The increase was delivered by hydropower, which generated 37.62% of Guatemala's electricity, rising above the 33.7% share it held in December

Power generation from bagasse biomass remained strong as the country pushed through the third month of the sugarcane harvest season.
