Sep 20, 2024 14:12 CESTSep 13, 2011 - German wind turbine maker Repower Systems (ETR:RPW) said today it is investing some EUR 10 million (USD 13.6m) for the expansion of two of its German plants.
As a result, at the production site in Bremerhaven, northern Germany, Repower will be able to manufacture wind turbines with a total capacity of 900 MW per year since 2012/13. Currently, the annual output of the produced turbines is 600 MW.
In addition, Repower will manufacture its 3 XM turbines with capacity of 3 MW in four assembly areas at its plant near Brandenburg, northeastern Germany.
The company plans to expand and reposition all three German facilities as the European offshore business is expected to grow in the coming years, chief operating officer Gregor Gnaedig said.
