Rezolv Energy, the Actis-backed clean power platform, announced on Monday that it has contracted three companies to build the 229-MW St. George solar park in Silistra Municipality in Northeastern Bulgaria.

Rezolv said in a statement that it is preparing to launch construction “very shortly” so that the solar power plant becomes operational next year. Moreover, it anticipates unveiling the first power purchase agreement (PPA) for the project “very soon”.

The developer has hired CMC Europe and Solarpro as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partners for the project, and Green Solar Energy to undertake the high-voltage work.

The scheme for St. George includes the installation of almost 400,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules on a decommissioned airfield covering 165 hectares. Rezolv secured a licence for this project in January and plans to finance it through loan facilities from a consortium of international lending partners and regional commercial lenders.
