Colombia's ANLA gets mandate to license renewables starting at 50 MW
Sep 17, 2024 12:44 CESTApr 30, 2012 - The board of Colombian sugar producer Riopaila Castilla on Friday authorised the company to build a 35 MW co-generation plant in the western municipality of Zarzal that will use sugar cane bagasse.
The investment will exceed USD 48 million (EUR 36.3m) and the plant is expected to start operations in 2014, the company said.
With this project, Riopaila Castilla expects to have a surplus of between 14 MW and 20 MW for sales to the national power network SIN.
