Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTCanadian gold mining company Robex Resources Inc (CVE:RBX) on Tuesday said it will have 3.9 MWp of solar and 2.6 MWh energy storage capacity installed at the Nampala mine in Mali, West Africa.
Robex has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Vivo Energy, jointly owned by energy and commodities company Vitol and Helios Investment Partners, for a period of five to fifteen years.

The solar installation will help to lower the mine's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by about 60,000 tonnes over ten years, while also stabilising the mine's power production and lowering production costs, Robex CEO Benjamin Cohen commented.
The solar-plus-battery system will be integrated into the existing thermal power plant at the mine.
Vivo Energy has been supplying fuels and lubricants to the Nampala mine since 2017, when it achieved commercial production.
