Romania's Hidroelectrica sells 615,650 MWh of electricity on local mkt

Romania's largest hydropower producer Hidroelectrica said on Monday it sold 615,650 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity for some 105 million lei ($32.2 million/23.5 million euro) on the domestic energy market operated by OPCOM.

The company sold the energy via auctions on April 3 and 4 at an average price of 163.3 lei per MWh, it said in a statement.

It sealed 29 contracts under which it will deliver the electricity over periods of a week, a month, five months, or eight months.

Hidroelectrica was placed back under reorganisation procedure in February. It exited insolvency proceedings on June 26, 2013, one year after being declared insolvent.

Romania's government owns 80.06% of the company and property restitution fund Fondul Proprietatea owns the remaining.
