Romita Energie Verde to build 41 mln euro biomass power plant in Romania

Romanian-based Romita Energie Verde will invest 41 million euro ($54 million) in the construction of a biomass power plant in the county of Cluj, the county council said.

The power plant, to be located in Rascruci near the Tetarom III industrial park, will have an installed capacity of 10 megawatts, the council of the northwestern Romanian county said in a statement issued earlier this week.

Construction works are expected to last 18 months.

The power plant will use some 100,000 tonnes of wood and wood derivatives a year to produce electricity.
