Singapore lines up 1.4 GW of solar imports from Indonesia, ups goal
Sep 06, 2024 12:53 CESTJapanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc announced on Monday that a 3-MW rooftop solar project at a paper factory in Indonesia was selected to receive financial support from the Japanese Ministry of the Environment.
The project is being developed together with compatriots Alamport Inc and NiX Japan Co Ltd through their joint venture Alam Energy. It involves the installation of a solar power system ontop of the facility operated by PT Eco Paper Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Alkindo Naratama Tbk (ALDO), in Subang, West Java.
Shizen expects to commence construction in November 2023, while commissioning is set for October 2024. Once up and running, the solar array is expected to reduce greenhouse emissions (GHG) emissions by 2,182 tonnes of CO2 per year.
