Renewables rise and Russian gas declines, says EC report
Sep 12, 2024 11:11 CESTMar 18, 2014 - The Rotterdam district court ruled last week that Dutch XL Wind can proceed with the construction of the 24-MW Hartelbrug II wind park on the Hartel Canal in Rotterdam, rejecting residents objections to the environmental permit.
The court said that the residents missed the deadline to challenge the permit. Their objections centred on noise, landscaping and health issues.
XL Wind plans to erect 8 wind turbines of German wind turbines producer Enercon with a capacity of 3 MW each. The company has already commissioned two and mounted the rotors of another two, according to information on its website.
The project is line with the policy of the municipality and the province on sustainable energy and wind power in particular. The province of South Holland has chosen Rotterdam’s port as focal area for wind energy.
