Swedish paper pulp maker Rottneros AB (STO:RROS) said on Tuesday that it has signed a deal to offtake just above 30 GWh of electricity annually from the domestic 116-MW Malarberget wind farm.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) with a term of 8.5 years was inked with German electric utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (ETR:EBK) and includes Guarantees of Origin (GoOs). Power supply under the deal is set to begin in 2025.

The contract with EnBW comes in line with Rottneros’ ambitions to cut the environmental impact of its operations, targeting fossil-free production by 2030.

In April, the Swedish company announced a plan to invest SEK 86 million (USD 8.33m/EUR 7.55m) in a solar-plus-storage project at its mill in Soderhamn, east-central Sweden.
