-- Enel to expand 450-MW US wind park after PPA with Danone

Enel Green Power North America Inc (EGPNA) has put into operation a 450-MW wind park in the US state of Texas and signed a PPA with Danone North America enabling a 50-MW extension of the park. Read more..

-- EDF Renewables secures PPA for 100-MW solar project in California

EDF Renewables North America has sealed a PPA that will support the construction of the 100-MW Maverick 6 solar park in California. The 20-year contract was struck with CleanPowerSF, a not-for-profit programme operated by San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Read more..

Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power has signed 20-year PPAs for two solar projects totalling 250 MW with Ethiopia's state-owned electricity producer Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP). The price agreed in the contracts is USD 0.02526 (EUR 0.02295)/kWh. Read more..

-- Enora, 547 Energy win 135 MW of wind projects in Greece

A unit of Greek renewables group Enteka SA and the clean energy platform of private equity firm Quantum Energy Partners have won 135 MW of wind power capacity in a recent auction in Greece. The country’s Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) has awarded 20-year PPAs for four wind projects to Enteka subsidiary Enora SA and an affiliate of 547 Energy LLC, which is backed by the buyout firm. A consortium formed by TBEA Xinjiang New Energy Co Ltd and Dubai-based AMEA Power has won a 100-MW solar project in Tunisia after participating in an international tender. Mexican cement manufacturer Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) will run some of its operations in Mexico on solar energy under a newly-signed PPA with an unnamed Mexican solar power supplier. Private asset manager Capital Dynamics and solar investor Sol Systems will build and operate a 12.1-MW solar park for the University of Illinois that will treble the renewable energy production at its Urbana campus.
