-- German public media groups ARD, ZDF to go 100% green in 2022

German public-service broadcasting groups ARD and ZDF will be operating completely on green power from 2022 and will procure electricity from hydropower plants in Scandinavia.

-- Brunswick contracts 57 MW of solar power generation in N America

Illinois-based recreational marine products maker Brunswick Corp (NYSE:BC) has sealed a multi-year virtual PPA with Vesper Energy tied to 57 MW of renewable energy capacity in North America.

-- Alcoa inks new wind energy deal for smelter in Spain

US aluminium producer Alcoa Corp (NYSE:AA) has signed a pre-agreement with Spanish renewables company Capital Energy to secure some 573 MW of wind power for its San Ciprian smelter in northwestern Spain.

-- Warehousing co Raven Russia signs contract for wind power supply

Raven Russia, the warehousing company with complexes in a number of major Russian cities, has signed a free bilateral agreement for wind electricity from the 100-MW Sulinskaya park in Rostov.

Renewable energy producer EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) has inked an off-take deal for 51% of the output of a 70-MW wind farm in Poland.

-- Greenalia offers up to 895 MW of wind to Alcoa's troubled smelter in Spain

Spanish renewable energy group Greenalia SA (BME:GRN) has signed a preliminary agreement to supply up to 2,297 GWh/year of wind power to the San Ciprian smelter operated by US aluminium producer Alcoa Corp (NYSE:AA) in northwestern Spain.

Canadian power generator TransAlta Corp (TSE:TA) will move ahead with building a 300-MW two wind farm complex in Oklahoma after signing two long-term PPAs for the offtake of its entire generation.

US renewables developer Vesper Energy has signed a 15-year virtual PPA with Zoetis Inc (NYSE:ZTS) that will see the animal health company get power from a 500-MW solar park in Texas.

Spanish energy company Repsol SA (BME:REP) has entered into a strategic collaboration with the cloud services unit of Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) that includes the signing of PPAs tied to 234 MW of renewables in Spain.

-- Germany's Covestro to offtake solar power from 187-MW park near Berlin

German plastic materials maker Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) has agreed to procure a third of the electricity generated by the 187-MW Weesow-Willmersdorf solar park near Berlin to power two of its sites in Germany.

-- TotalEnergies to help decarbonise New Caledonia nickel producer

French energy company TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE) today unveiled a 25-year renewable PPA with Prony Resources New Caledonia to help the mining and metallurgy consortium decarbonise its operations.

-- Finland's Huhtamaki inks 10-year VPPAs for solar from BayWa

Finnish packaging solutions provider Huhtamaki Oyj (HEL:HUH1V) has inked two virtual PPAs with German renewables company BayWa r.e. AG tied to solar projects in Spain.

Australian energy infrastructure company APA Group (ASX:APA) will move ahead with a second 44-MW stage of the Mica Creek solar project in Queensland after signing up a second customer.

France’s Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) will increase the capacity of a proposed solar photovoltaic (PV) complex in Brazil to 87 MW after the power offtake deal for the project was extended by client Telefonica SA (BME:TEF).

Irish renewable energy developer and investor NTR Plc has inked a deal to offload electricity from an 86-MW wind farm project in Sweden to Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT).

-- Alinta powers up 60-MW Australian solar farm for Fortescue

Alinta Energy's 60-MW Chichester Hub remote solar farm in Western Australia has started supplying electricity to iron ore miner Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG).

-- RWE secures 35 GWh/yr of solar power from new Enerparc project

German energy major RWE AG (ETR:RWE) will market part of the electricity produced by a 57-MW solar park that will be built and owned by renewables developer Enerparc AG in the state of Hesse, central Germany.

-- Airbus inks 3.85 GWh/yr solar PPA for German plant

Airbus Helicopters, part of aerospace and defence group Airbus (EPA:AIR), has agreed to procure about 3.85 GWh of green electricity per year from a 3.5-MWp solar park, which will be built in southern Germany, to power its factory for helicopters and aircraft doors in Bavaria.

-- EnBW signs 85-MW PPA with Fraport for North Sea wind farm

Fraport AG (ETR:FRA), the operator of the Frankfurt airport, has agreed to source 85 MW of green electricity from the 900-MW He Dreiht wind project in the North Sea, currently under development.

-- Mitsubishi to power Lawson stores in Japan with 45 MW of solar

Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp (TYO:8058) announced an off-site PPA with Japanese convenience store operator Lawson Inc (TYO:2651) to power Lawson sites with 45 MW of new solar facilities.

-- Aquila erects 400-MW wind farm in Norway, bags new solar PPAs in Portugal

London-listed investment firm Aquila European Renewables Income Fund plc (LON:AERS), or AERIF, said its 400-MW The Rock wind farm in Norway is close to being commissioned, while its 100%-owned solar farm in Portugal racked up additional PPAs.

-- Statkraft seals 30-GWh/yr wind PPA with cement maker Opterra

Norwegian renewable energy generator Statkraft AS has signed a PPA to supply some 30 GWh of onshore wind power annually to three factories run by Leipzig-based cement manufacturer Opterra in Germany.
