Royal Wine installs 1.15-MW solar system in New Jersey

Dec 14, 2011 - US wine producer and importer Royal Wine Corp (RWC) said this week it had wrapped up a 1.15-MW rooftop solar power installation at its headquarters and warehouse building in Bayonne, New Jersey.

The system features 5,000 US-made polycrystalline solar panels of German group Schott expected to meet up to 65% of RWC's power demand for the next 20 years. RWC owns and will operate the installation.

As part of a federal incentive programme under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 the project is eligible for a grant equal to 30% of its cost, RWC said. The company also intends to take part in the New Jersey clean energy program through which companies can obtain Solar Renewable Energy Certificates.
