Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTAustrian privately-held power producer RP Global Group hopes that it will be able to commission by November its 34.2 MW Rudine wind park near the Adriatic town of Dubrovnik, RP Global’s country manager for Croatia said on Wednesday.
In case there are no surprises during the test run, the relevant inspection activities, the obtaining of a certificate of use and the commissioning of the wind park is expected by November 1, Bojan Rescec said in an emailed response to a SeeNews inquiry.
The construction of the wind park is on schedule and half of the 12 GE wind turbines have already been installed with the remaining ones due to be deployed in the beginning of next month.
After all the turbines are in place, the wind park will begin trial operations.
In September, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) said it was arranging up to 42.5 million euro ($55.1 million) in financing for RP Global's Rudine wind park. The total project cost is estimated at 53 million euro. The wind farm will boost Croatia’s supply of wind-generated power by 11%, the IFC said at the time.
Rudine is the second wind project developed by RP Global in Croatia. RP Global's first facility there – the 43.7 MW Danilo wind farm, near Sibenik, was commissioned in 2014.
Wind had the biggest share in Croatia's installed renewable energy generation capacity with 297.3 MW as of September 1, data of the country's energy market operator, HROTE, showed.
