Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTAustrian electricity producer RP Global plans to build a 10 million euro ($12 million) solar power plant in the Croatian town of Novalja, on the Adriatic island of Pag, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, HGK, said on Thursday.
The plant will generate 25 GWh of electricity per year, and will bring 250,000 kuna ($39,000/33,000) of annual revenue to Novalja municipality, HGK said in a statement.
The investment in the photovoltaic plant is part of RP Global's ambitious plans for the development of new energy capacities in the Lika-Senj County.
"It is difficult to speak about concrete figures at this moment, but we hope that in the years to come we will talk about three-digit megawatts and millions of euro of investment," RP Global’s country manager for Croatia, Bojan Rescec, said in the statement.
RP Global is already present in Croatia where it has developed the 43.7 MW Danilo and the 34.2 MW Rudine wind farms, both located close to the Adriatic coast.
The share of photovoltaic sources in Croatia's total installed capacity stood at 6% in 2019, HGK said, adding that the solar plants in the country generated 72,000 MWh of electricity last year.
