Poland’s R.Power Renewables announced today it has commissioned an 8.4-MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Portugal which is its first in the Iberian country.

Located in Evora City, southern Portugal, the solar park consists of more than 15,000 bifacial PV modules spread over an area of 14 hectares (34.6 acres).

The farm's estimated annual output of more than 16 GWh will be sold under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with "one of the leading European entities in the energy sector." This volume of clean electricity is enough to meet the demand of almost 8,000 households, the company said.

Polish companies Nomad Electric and Nomad Electric Services are responsible for the construction and operation of the facility, respectively.

R.Power noted it will put into operation more plants in Portugal before the end of the year, bringing its total power capacity to 70 MWp.
