Poland’s R.Power Renewables said on Tuesday it has signed its first contracts to perform services related to a portfolio containing several solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Romania.

The contracts concern the general implementation of the schemes and cover the supply, installation, construction and commissioning of the power plants. Specific details about the projects were not available.

“We believe that our investments will contribute to the further growth of the photovoltaic sector in the country, which is already developing at an impressive pace,” said Klaudiusz Kalisz, board member at R.Power. He added that the company’s expansion strategy into new markets is yielding the expected results, with Romania being one of its “more important markets for development.”

Romania, considered to be one of the fastest-growing solar markets in Europe, brought live over 1 GW of PV capacity in 2023.

Earlier in June, R.Power bought shares in certain firms holding the rights to 21.4 MWp of shovel-ready PV projects in Portugal. The company said it is currently working on plans to build PV parks in Spain and Germany.
