Polish independent power producer (IPP) R.Power SA has energised a 10-MWp solar farm in Poland, it said on Tuesday as it celebrated another milestone on its way to reaching over 1 GWp by 2025.

The new solar farm is located in Lubaczow, in the Podkarpackie region of Poland. The plant is equipped with more than 18,000 photovoltaic panels covering an area of 11 hectares (27.2 acres).

R.Power expects the solar farm to be able to generate approximately 11 GWh of electricity annually, which would be enough to power around 4,400 households.

The Lubaczow scheme is part of R.Power’s strategy to pack more than 1 GWp of solar projects in its IPP portfolio by 2025. It follows the recent commissioning of solar farms in Serta, Portugal and in Dramino, Poland.
