Polish solar power producer R.Power SA on Friday said it has signed contracts that will enable the construction of 23 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) farms in Romania.

Deals for the general execution of the projects were sealed with Poland’s Nomad Electric and Romania-based renewable energy building contractor Waldervar. The schemes covered by the arrangement are in the shovel-ready stage.

To be installed in central and eastern Romania, the PV plants will be connected directly to the national medium-voltage grid. They are planned to go online in the second quarter of next year.

R.Power is expanding its activities in Romania, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany. The company’s goal is to build up a solar PV portfolio of 100 MWp in Romania by the end of 2025. Globally, it aims to have 1 GW of capacity in operation next year.

In March, R.Power secured an over 200-MWp pipeline with multiple solar schemes across Romania, all permitted and with grid-connection contracts in place.
