MGM Resorts to offtake power from 115-MW solar project in Nevada
Sep 12, 2024 16:38 CESTJul 13, 2012 - US restaurant operator Ruggles Green said Wednesday it would cover 100% of the power demand of its newest location in Sugar Land, Texas with renewable energy from US Green Mountain Energy, a unit of NRG Energy (NYSE:NRG).
Ruggles, which is a Certified Green Restaurant, has signed a two-year green power supply contract with Green Mountain, under which it expects to buy more than 600,000 kWh. The amount is to help offset 590,000 pounds (267,600 kg) of carbon dioxide emission, the company calculates.
In addition, Ruggles said it had bought 10% more green energy than its estimated demand in the form of renewable energy certificates (RECs).
