Russia's Rakurs Engineering to help Bosnia's Serb Republic build 4 HPPs

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 17 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's Serb Republic has signed a cooperation agreement with Russia's Rakurs Engineering for the construction of four medium-sized hydropower plants worth an estimated total of 500 million euro ($582.5 million), the entity's energy ministry said.

The agreement foresees the construction of four HPPs in a cascade on the river Vrbas with a combined capacity of 70 megawatts, the energy ministry said in a statement late on Friday.

The four plants in the project are: 24.01 MW HPP Trn with an average annual output of 139.90 gigawatt hours (GWh), 16.18 MW HPP Laktasi with an estimated annual production of 95.2 GWh, 13.3 MW Kosjerevo HPP with 102 GWh of production and 16.5 MW Razboj HPP with annual production of 102.1 GWh.

Rakurs-Engineering is ready to perform all the necessary analyses and to consider the possibility of finding investors to finance the project, according to the statement.

The Serb Republic is one of two entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other is the Federation.
