Sep 19, 2024 8:35 CESTJun 6, 2014 - RWE Innogy, the renewable energy unit of German utility RWE (ETR:RWE), said today it has completed the construction of its service and operating station on the island of Helgoland for the 295-MW Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm.
The facility will serve as the operating and maintenance station of the offshore wind farm during the next 20 years of its operation. In the following weeks, the first employees from the service staff of a total of 50 people will move to the new centre.
Nordsee Ost will be located 35 km (21 miles) north of Helgoland and is expected to produce enough power for 300,000 households. RWE began the installation of the 48 turbines for the farm earlier in May. Completion is scheduled for the spring of 2015.
