PGE, Ørsted lease Gdansk terminal for 1.5-GW Baltica 2 wind project
Sep 16, 2024 16:04 CESTSep 25, 2013 - RWE Innogy, the green arm of German utility group RWE AG (ETR:RWE), today inaugurated a 45 MW onshore wind farm near Gdansk, in Poland.
The Nowy Staw farm, sprawling on 15 sq km (5.79 sq mi), has the capacity to supply 50,000 households per year.
RWE Innogy built the facility in two phases for 14 months and invested EUR 60 million (USD 81m) in the project. Further expansion of the farm's capacity is already being planned.
Nowy Staw is the sixth wind farm of RWE Innogy in Poland. The company already operates 200 MW of wind capacity in the country. It regards Poland as a key market because of its wind power potential.
